Inspection Reports

Ofsted

Ofsted last visited our school in May 2022. We were judged as a good school where "pupils feel safe and make many friends".

We are delighted with the report and the findings of the two inspectors who visited our school for the day.   They highlighted many positive areas including;

  • The way our children feel in school and their behaviour around school.
  • How quickly our reception children settle into school as a result of the provision that is provided.
  • Our provision for SEN children and the way in which our quality first teaching strategies ensure they are fully included in the curriculum.
  • The design of the curriculum and our usage of assessment.
  • Our early reading provision alongside the provision we have in place for readers across the school.
  • Our enrichment activities.
  • The effectiveness of our safeguarding.

SIAMS

We are proud to announce that in November 2023, under the new SIAMS Framework, our school has told that it is living up to its foundation as a Church school.

The inspector enjoyed spending time with our wonderful Howick Community and established that;

  • The vision’s biblical foundation is understood and cherished as a source of courage, strength and joy. Integrated into every aspect of school life, the vision is a lived reality. Thus, pupils develop into confident and resilient individuals equipped to persevere and thrive.
  • Highly motivated leaders, including governors, are deeply committed to the development of the school as a Church school. Strategic decisions and actions are shaped by a desire to bring the vision to fruition.
  • Engaging collective worship beautifully expresses the vision to ‘be guided by our values’. As a result, pupils gain a remarkable insight into Christian values that shape their attitudes and behaviours.  Opportunities for guided prayer and reflection within and beyond worship enable people to flourish spiritually.
  • Leaders wholeheartedly ensure that the vision applies to all pupils and adults. This creates an open and loving culture of inclusion, which leads people to flourish.
  • Impressive curricular and extracurricular opportunities enable pupils to gain a strong understanding of issues of justice. Pupils are empowered and impassioned to overcome the ‘challenges of our changing world’ as agents of change
