Governors

Hello and welcome to the governors section of our website.

Our school governors are made up of parents, staff, members of the local community, representatives of the local authority and members of our Church, St Mary’s.

We have 3 core functions;

  1. To ensure clarity of vision, ethos ad strategic direction
  2. To hold the executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
  3. To oversee the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent

We meet half termly and our meetings alternate between a full governing board meeting and 2 sub-committee meetings.

Our Governing Body represent different groups of society and consist of the following:-

  •  Foundation governors appointed by the church,
  •  Parent governors,
  •  Co-opted governors
  •  Staff governors
  •  A local authority governor
  • The Head Teacher

All the governors are passionate about our amazing, small school and have a shared vision to ensure that Howick is the best learning experience it can be for our children and wider Howick families.

Aside from the half termly meetings, governors visit school periodically to speak with staff and children about the school and their learning. We also attend school events where possible to offer our support.

Governors can be contacted either through the school bursar, or directly using the email addresses below.
